After your prototype controls have been developed using
OpenECU and all your hardware requirements are defined,
Pi Innovo is the perfect partner for your production ECUs.

Examples of custom applications currently being discussed are:
- Primary Flight Control Unit
- Vehicle Controls Unit (VCU)
- HUMS – Health and Usage Monitoring System
- Battery Management System (BMS)
- IC Engine Controls (hybrid systems)
- IMU – Dual redundant for autonomous vehicle (not OTS OpenECU)

For commercial aviation, Pi Innovo was a key partner supporting Lycoming in the iE2 Integrated Electronic Engine program. Pi Innovo’s support included:

For automotive ECUs, Pi Innovo utilizes the V-Model Development Process to develop Custom safety critical ECUs in conformance with ISO 26262. All development projects will generate a Quality Plan to clearly define the project deliverables and set the framework for the project. The process can be tailored to meet customer specific requirements.

Recent developments include multiple programs using ISO 26262 ASIL D functional Safety processes:
- Electric Vehicle Supervisory Control (VCU)
- IMU for Autonomous Vehicle - Full dual-redundant design, 6 degree of freedom, thermal and orthogonality compensation
- Park Brake Module
